The Challenge

NASA lacked a unified strategy to assess AI maturity, prioritize investments, and align stakeholders across the agency. Individual teams were experimenting with AI applications, but no framework existed for evaluating maturity, assessing risks, or identifying adoption gaps.

The Approach

Led a series of high-stakes workshops and research-driven discussions with NASA's key stakeholders, including technical teams, mission leaders, policymakers, and executives. Used expert facilitation and human-centered methodologies to define AI strategy, align investment priorities, and surface policy, technical, and ethical challenges.

  • Developed NASA's first AI-Readiness framework for assessing maturity and adoption
  • Informed AI investment decisions for the Chief AI Officer and CIO
  • Broke down silos between departments for improved collaboration
  • De-risked AI adoption with practical, scalable implementation pathways

The Impact

Direct influence on agency-wide AI funding strategies and resource allocation. Established structured, repeatable process for assessing AI maturity. Created data-driven decision-making model across technical teams and leadership.
